Range Repair
A range rarely picks a convenient time to stop working. One burner quits before dinner, the oven won't heat for the weekend, or the cooktop suddenly starts clicking without stopping. Plan A - Appliance Repair repairs gas and electric ranges throughout Poway and nearby North County, including glass-top, coil-top, and induction models. Our service area also covers Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, and surrounding North County communities.
Common Range Problems We Repair
Ignition failures, cold burners, continuous clicking, cracked glass tops, and controls stuck on high - these are the range issues we see most.
Range, Cooktop, or Wall Oven?
These appliances look similar, but they're built very differently.
A range combines the cooktop and oven into a single appliance that sits on the floor. That's the equipment covered on this page.
A cooktop is installed directly into the countertop and doesn't include an oven below. It has its own electrical or gas components and requires different replacement parts. See our cooktop repair page.
A wall oven is installed separately inside cabinetry and operates independently of the cooktop. Although many heating components are similar, servicing a wall oven involves a different installation and repair process. See oven & range repair.

Why Gas Burners Keep Clicking
The spark ignition system is designed to stop clicking as soon as the burner lights. If it continues, something is preventing that process from completing.
Moisture is one of the most common causes. Water from cleaning or a boil-over can temporarily interfere with the spark. Dirt or grease around the burner ports can also prevent proper ignition.
If cleaning and drying don't solve the problem, a cracked ignition electrode or failing spark module becomes much more likely.
One important distinction: continuous clicking is usually an appliance issue. The smell of natural gas with all burners turned off is different. If that happens, stop using the range, leave the area if necessary, and contact your gas utility before arranging appliance service.
Range Brands We Repair
We repair virtually every major range brand found in Poway homes. Samsung electric ranges frequently require radiant element or touch-control repairs, while gas models often develop worn ignition components over time. LG ranges sometimes route burner controls through the main electronic control board, making proper diagnosis especially important before replacing parts. GE coil-top ranges remain some of the simplest appliances to repair, with readily available elements, receptacles, and control switches. Whirlpool and Maytag gas ranges commonly need spark modules, burner switches, and ignition components after years of regular use. We also service Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch, Kenmore, induction ranges, and many other major manufacturers.
